Bringing the person who has died into care, treating them with respect and dignity, before transporting them to the crematorium or place of worship.

Visit the person who has died in the chapel of rest by appointment 7 days a week 9am-8pm.

The date and time of the funeral will be agreed with the funeral director.

Your choice of venues for both the service and the committal - these can be at different locations if you wish.

Your choice of coffin from our extensive coffin range.

An attended burial or cremation.

Your choice of ceremonial vehicle.

We’ll take a cortege route of your choice to pass any special places.

When you arrange a funeral with us, we can help you understand if you need probate or other legal support. If probate is needed, Co-op Legal Services can provide you with a fixed fee quote for carrying out this work.

Traditional funerals
Many people choose a traditional style of funeral because it’s what the person wanted or perhaps how your family prefers to do things. A traditional funeral remains a very popular choice.

We can help you add contemporary, inspiring and unique personal touches. If they had any hobbies or passions, we can help you find ways to include these in the funeral.

How much it costs
The price of a tailored funeral depends on where you live and what you want.
To get an accurate cost, you can:

How to pay
Within 2 days of making the arrangements you’ll be asked to make a payment.
We’ll discuss what you need to pay, and when, with you when you make the arrangement.
We accept cash, credit or debit card as well as Apple Pay or Google Pay payments. If you have an invoice, you can pay for a funeral.

Help is available
If you need help to pay for the funeral:
- government support is available to help cover some costs
- you could get a loan from our partners at Funeral Safe
We’ll discuss what you need to pay, and when, with you when you make the arrangement.

Probate is the legal process of dealing with someone's home, money and possessions after they have died. When you arrange a funeral with us, we can help you understand if you need probate.
Some common questions
Our tailored funerals give you the flexibility to choose what you’d like to include in the funeral service, and our funeral directors will help you add and plan any other elements to make the service more personal. If you’d like to add funeral flowers, use an alternative hearse, or make any other requests, we can help you.

When you’re arranging a tailored funeral with Co-op Funeralcare our funeral directors will take you through every step. They'll listen to you, explain the decisions that need to be made as you go through the arrangement and they’ll give you some ideas on how to make the day more personal.
A Co-op funeral director will help you with everything involved in the funeral arrangement process. From helping with what to do when someone dies, guiding you through the choices and decisions you’ll need to make, to being there to support you on the day of the funeral.
We can help you order funeral flowers as part of the arrangements. You can either choose from one of the many arrangements available on our website, or we can create a bespoke arrangement if you wish.
